Josiah & Thalia

I am so very excited to get these pictures up here! This was the last session I did last year, and I really enjoyed editing these! You may remember Thalia from this previous session. I must say, I'm just a sucker for chunky cheeks. =)

I also painted this one a long time ago, back in 2009, and wanted to include it here. We found this little guy in Monterey during our anniversay, and I just had to paint him. For some reason, even though this little guy was found on a totally different trip, it reminds me of the time that we went to Monterey after Levi got out of the NICU. When we were sitting down taking a break from all the walking at the Aquarium, two little old ladies came up to us and asked us how many days old Levi was. I told them over 2 months, and they insisted I was wrong, that he was brand new. It was pretty funny, albeit a little annoying that they seriously would not believe that he was that old. We tried explaining he was born early so it was like he was only a week or so old, but they just kept insisting that he was only a few days old. People can be so odd at times...

Ha, that was a little off subject, but I thought it was funny and wanted to share. So, anyways, this one's not a new painting by any means, but it's new to the blog, so I'm happy. =)

"Do I Dare...?" - Levi's Owl Painting

I finished this painting over a year and a half ago, and I don't know why I haven't posted it yet, but here it is. It was for my son, Levi, and now that I'm working on another one for his baby brother who's on his way, I thought it was past time to get it up here. I'm hoping to finish his brother's painting before he's born, but with how crummy I've been feeling this pregnancy, and the fact that I have way too many pictures to edit right now, we'll see how that works. =P

I'm thinking this is going to be the first in my new series called "The Secret Lives of Animals." Little squirrel is feeling rather daring today... He's got his eye on that tasty acorn, and not even a huge, menacing owl will stand in his way. Let's hope he makes it through this alive! =)
